Why is Change Important in an Organization?

Any business in today's fast-moving environment that is looking for the pace of change to slow is likely to be sorely disappointed. The world is changing everyday: the population is changing, customer trends are changing, technology is changing and the economy is changing. Businesses who fail to embrace change can easily wind up as dinosaurs – out of touch and unable to compete under current trading conditions.

Change is important for any organization because, without change, businesses would lose their competitive edge and fail to meet the ever-changing needs of customers.

Why Organization Changed?

1) Performance Gaps

2) New Technology

3) Identification of Opportunities

4) Reaction of internal & External Pressure

5) Mergers or Acquisition

What are the benefits   of organization change?

The Ever-Changing World of Technology

Technology has also changed how we interact. Business owners no longer have to call people laboriously, in person, to find out about other people who could be useful tools. Today, through search engines as well as through social media platforms, they can search for experts online. Today's burgeoning communication technology reflects developments that enable organizations to learn more,

Customer Needs Are Constantly Evolving

Customers who were happy with doing business only a few years ago during normal opening hours now expect the company to always be open and available with the swipe of a smartphone. Customer requirements shift and expand as the environment develops, generating new demand for new types of goods and services. It opens up new areas of opportunity for businesses to satisfy those needs.

The Changing Global Economy

In both positive and negative ways, the economy can affect companies, and both can be stressful. A strong economy and growing demand for goods and services would mean that businesses need to consider expansion that could include the addition of workers and new facilities. These adjustments provide workers with resources, but also represent new challenges.

Change Means Growth Opportunities

According to Business Partner Magazine, the value of change in business environments encourages workers to develop new skills, pursue new opportunities and exercise their imagination in ways that eventually support the company through new ideas and increased engagement.

Education may be delivered by conventional classroom environments or, progressively, through opportunities for online learning.

Importantly, companies need to do a good job of determining the skills of workers and then take measures to fill the gaps between current abilities and the abilities needed to respond to growth.

Challenging the Status

New employees joining an organization are especially valuable because they can often point to areas of opportunity for improvement that those who have been long involved in the company might have overlooked – yet another one of the many benefits of change. But even existing employees should be encouraged to question why things are done a certain way and look for new ways to get work done faster, better and with higher levels of quality and service. Change is necessary to be a successful long-term business.
